musemint asked:

the ability to manipulate reality with your hands, or the ability to jump in and out of fictional universes?

To be able to manipulate reality would be a scary thing for me. I know myself and I think that I would be tempted to do things- perhaps not wrong things- but things that are powerful, that inhibit the natural course of things, things that might be intentionally or unintentionally selfish, and heck, probably things that would make me start to question my own sanity. Not to mention that I think there would be a lot of responsibility that someone like me shouldn’t take on. If I don’t manipulate things so a person doesn’t die in the future or something, then it is my fault they died. But if I save them then I’m playing god with their life.

I don’t think I would have the right to do that, even if I just suddenly had that ability.

And, even with all that aside, it has always been my dream to jump in and out of fictional universes, oh my gosh. I always called it dimension hopping, but there’s a reason I had an influx of characters at one point who had something in common; Junus with his gauntlet, Testament, which could tear through space and time and fling him into other worlds and universes and times. The Sentinel whose ability was literally to open portals to parallel dimensions. Commodore Septimus with her universe-jumping ship, the Random-esque. And of course, Jesse’s “mother,” Sept, who used advanced portal-opening technology to do the same thing.

I always thought it was the coolest idea ever and like, back when we were kids and we’d play pretend X-men and stuff, I was like a version of Nightcrawler who could go bampf, but through other uuuniverses.

So yeah, the ability to jump in and out of fictional universes all the way.
